Greetings-
some years ago I began researching my genealogy. My search for my father's line wound up with Genealogist Virginia A. Rogers sending me a packet from White Earth with my family tree, that of the Warren Family in Minnesota and earlier, Wisconsin territory. I found my grandmother, and sent Ms. Rogers an update on her and my father and our family. This was around 1984.
In looking at what you have online there is some missing information that I may be able to help you with on this page- or further confuse matters, or clarify them, perhaps:
http://www.ojibwe.info/Ojibwe/HTML/people/p00001rf.htm#I28269
if there is perhaps another page relating to this that has this information and I missed it, I apologize.
Both your information and the Rogers info list Julia Pemberton's parents as John B. Pemberton and Nun-do-tum (or -tun). But I do not find my great-grandmother's information on this page. It seems there may have been another Julia Pemberton called Ina
Julia Mahkahdayahcumig PEMBERTON.
My Great-grandmother is listed as Mary Jane Julia Pemberton (WE-3439) b. 1876, died Aug. 12, 1928. She married Alfred J. Warren (WE-139) b. 1878, died Nov. 21, 1921. He was the son of William V. Warren (WE-135) and Eunice Kennifick. He was the Sheriff at Malu(?) MN. The Rogers genealogy also lists a Vornwald as Julia's second husband.
The children of this union between Alfred and Julia are listed as:
- Madeline
Elizabeth Warren, B. Nov. 21 1903
- Lucille A. Warren, B. July
8, 1912
- Fairal Warren, B. Oct. 2,
1916
and
- Leon L. or Leona L. Warren,
b. around 1902-3
My grandmother is Leona L. Warren. She married Walter Carlisle Davis and they moved to Detroit, MI.
Their children were:
- Fairal
Davis (not sure of her birthdate, but she is older than my
father)
- Walter Carlisle Jr. (My
father, b. Aug. 1928)
- Diane Davis (born later in
her life, around 1942. She is not much older than my sister, b. in 1946)
Walter Jr. married my mother, Edith Melton, b. Jan. 13, 1927, and had two daughters with her, my sister
Gwendolyn
Sue Davis, b. July 29, 1946 and myself,
Lorraine Marie Davis, b. Jan.
31, 1950.
My parents divorced when I was an infant, and I do not know much about my father's life afterward, as I never met him. I do beleive he remarried and had several more children, perhaps four. At the age of 19, I recieved a letter from my aunt Fairal, urging me to
write to my father. We exchanged a few letters in the next ten years, but he never spoke of his other family. My father passed away in 1979, only a year or two after Leona died.
this is what I know, and will be happy to contribute it to your pages.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any other questions.
Thank you so much-
