Hi ...
St. Antoine de la Riviere du Loup (Louiseville), Quebec, Canada.
His French wife was Marguerite Jouineau and they had 14 children. They
were married June 3, 1793 at Riviere Quelle Kamouraska, Quebec, Canada.
The info I have next is from the Wisconsin Historical Society.
Augustin owed 1200 acres on Concession 2, Lot 3, in St. Ursule,
Quebec (from 1851 census)
Was in 1804 a voyageur in the Fond du
Lac department of the North West Company

Augustin Belanger appeared to turn to fur trading, when he needed
money. Per records of the Northwest Company he was a voyageur in:
Riviere du Chene to Grand Portage
1/10/1800
Riviere Du Chene to Fort Des Prairies 3/22/1802
Riviere Du Chene to Fort Kaministiguia 1/8/1807
I have learned through various Indian Treaties that Augustin had a
"country wife" by the name of
Waubunequa,
who had at least 3 children with Augustin. There names are
obtained from the Treaty with the Chippewa, 1826 and the Treaty of
9/30/1854.
Augustin married Josette Wa Bun Equay (Wabani) July 24, 1836 at St
Joseph Mission, Lapointe, Wisconsin. Father Baraga was the Priest
that preformed the wedding vows. Augustin and Josette had more than
three children but only a few stayed with and were registered to White
Earth.
Augustin Jr was married to Charolette (Carolina) Go Day Quay Cotte
August 30, 1835 by Father Baraga. One of their children, Augustin, born
July 20, 1835 and died March 12, 1841 is buried up there at the Indian
cemetary. I am also of these lines but my family never registered
through my Gr Gr Grandfather Joseph (Peter) Bellanger son of Augustin
and Josette Bellanger.
A lot of my info came through Sister Emmerance
Belanger in 1980 before she died. I hope this email address is still
good and would like to hear back from you.
Thank You for your time
