[Powell 8/0060] [From a letter to David VanWert, Esq., White Earth, Minnesota,
NOV 4, 1914:]
"Some time ago you did this commission the favor of sending us the
information regarding your ancestry. We thank you for the same, and hope that
you will answer the following questions concerning which there is some doubt.
What was your mother's name? Was it Beaulieu, Margaret or Beaulieu, Mary?
Was she a sister of Beaulieu, Theodore H.. Did your father James Van Wert
marry to sisters, both of them sisters of Theodore H. Beaulieu?
"You mention Robert, Martha, and Julia as a brother and sisters. Was Mrs.
Eva Sweet also your sister? Were Frederick, Arthur, Lawrence, Sylvester and
Maggie also brothers and sisters of yours, or are they only half brothers and
sisters? Who was their mother?
"Trusting that we may have a prompt reply to the above questions, for which
we thank you in advance, we beg you to remain,
"Very truly yours,"
[Powell 8/0062] [From a letter to Missrs. Powell and Cain, Minneapolis,
