"At the February board meeting, Stuart Desjarlait's resignation as District 2
Director was accepted. After reviewing candidates for the vacancy, the board
decision was to appoint Ed Perkins to fill the balance of the term. Ed was
also a candidate for the District 2 Directorship in the 1993 election. Edward
has been a Co-op member since June, 1979. He is retired from the Indian Health
Service Hospital in Red Lake in 1993 and is now working at the Red Lake School.
He is married to Virginia. His son, Darrell, is at home. His two
grandchildren, Candace and Robert, are with him while his daughter, Lea,
attends medical school in Duluth. He has been a Union Steward and served 4
years in the U.S. Air Force.
