!OBIT: Bemidji Pioneer, 22 Mar 1993
Frank M. Lajeunesse, 82, of Red Lake died Saturday, March 20, 1993, at the
Red Lake Hospital.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Mission Church in Redlake
with the Rev. Bill Mehrkens officiating. Burial will be at Ft. Snelling
National Cemetery in Minneapolis under the direction of Olson-Schwartz Funeral
Home. Visitation is after 4:30 p.m. today until time of services Wednesday at
the Red Lake Community Center.
Pallbearers are Allen Larjeunesse, Brial Lajeunesse, Roger White Jr., Robert
White, Chad Prentice and Donald Needham Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Marvin
Needham, Donald Needham Sr., Arnold Lajeunesse, Lawrence Lajeunesse Sr.,
Charles Prentice Sr., Maynard Needham and James Needham.
Mr. Lajeunesse was born April 29, 1910, at Redlake, the son of David and
Bridgette Lajeunesse. He grew up and attended school at Redlake. He served in
the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Julia Johnson on Nov. 29, 1947
at Redlake. He worked as a laborer with the Red Lake Mills for 40 years,
retiring in 1975. He was a member of the Bemidji VFW and American Legion Club,
and the Red Lake VFW.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Lajeunesse, of Redlake, three daughters,
Elaine Nez of San Jose, Calif., Marian Prentice of Redy, Patricia Needham of
Redlake; three sons, Donald and Marvin Needham, both of Redlake, James Needham
of Minneapolis; 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, six
great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Ann Aitkin of Redlake.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Joseph and John; and
two sisters, Philomene and
Florence.
