Darlene E. Cloud, 60, of Mahnomen died Sunday, June 24, 1994 at MeritCare
Hospital in Fargo, N.D.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Breck Memorial Episcopal
Church at Pine Point, with the Rev. George Ross officiating. Visitation is
5-7:30 p.m. Friday at the Guild Hall in Pine Point. Interment will be in the
church cemetery, with arrangements by the Mattson funderal Home of Mahnomen.
Mrs. Cloud was born March 13, 1934, at White Earth to Johnson B. King and
Elizabeth Rock. She grew up in Pine Point and attended elementary school there
and high school in Park Rapids. She married Bernard Cloud Sr. in 1960 at
Detroit Lakes. He died June 14, 1963. She lived at Pine Point until moving to
St. Paul in 1965 and to California three years later. She worked as a nurse's
aid at several nursing homes there. She moved back to Rice Lake in 1989 and to
Mahnomen in 1993. For the past two years she was senior lead supervisor in the
change department at the Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen. She was a member of
St. Phillip's Episcopal Church at Rice Lake and, while in California, was a
Sunday school teacher for the Truth Tabernacle. She enjoyed reading, crossword
puzzles, the church, singing and taking care of people in her home.
She is survived by five sons, Steve Kilacoyne of Apple Valley, CA., Johnson
B. (Joanna) King of Tucson, Ariz., Bernard W. Cloud Jr. of Bagley, James L.
Clod of Mahnomen, and Dennis Cloud of Norwalk, Calif; two daughtes, celest
(Gary) Stevens of Bagley and Tamara Cloud of Norwalk; 15 grandchildren, three
great-grandchildren; two brothers, Granville King of St. Paul and Reuben Sailor
of Norwalk, and two sisters, Zelda Oliver of St. Paul and Evangeline Heath of
Dayton, Ohio.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Clifford "Tubby"
King.
