in partnership with Joseph Rolette, Sr., in 1815 and 1816 as hiring men to
winter on the Mississippi River and Des Moines Rover and at Prairie du
Chien.  An agreement dated July 22, 1819, involving the firm of Bertholet
and Rolette may be found in the William Woodbridge Papers, Burton Historical
