died Sunday, Nov. 12, 1995, at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Mission Church in
Redlake, with the Rev. William Mehrkens officiating. Visitation starts at 3
p.m. today at the Little Rock Community Center in Red Lake and continues until
the time of services. Interment will be in the Redlake Catholic Cemetery, with
arrangements by the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Brian Johnson, Billy Green, Billy Hill, Richard
Gibbs, Adolph Barrett and Darrell Barrett, with alternates Charlene Kelly Jr.
and Raymond Barrett.
Mr. Barrett was born July 4, 1946, at Redlake to Frank and Gladys (Feather)
Barrett. He grew up and went to school at Redlake and was married there Feb.
17, 1990 to Frances Rosebear. He was a self-employed logger and did commercial
fishing.
He was survived by his wife; five daughters, Mary Barrett, Kimberly Barrett
and Arlene Barrett, all of Redlake, and Leanne and Sheila; three sons, Gene
Jr., Robert and Frank; a stepson, Herb; two step-daughters, Brenda and
Charlotte; three grandchildren; his mother of Redlake; seven brothers, Charles
(Debbie) Barrett of Bemidji, Adolph Barrett of Redlake and Raymond Barrett of
Redlake, Frank Barrett Jr. of Shakopee, Michael Barrett of Hines, Terrance
Barrett of Omaha, Neb., and Daryl Barrett of Redlake; seven sisters, Peggy
(Richard) Grundmeier of Kelliher, Gladys Jean (Lance) Paukner of Blackduck,
Sheree Barrett of Bemidji, Becky Barrett of Redlake, Florence (Irv) Larson of
Brooklyn Park, Anette Demo of Minneapolis and Maxine (Robert) Folstad of
Brooklyn Center; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother,
Robert.
