In Chippewa Wasso means bright, bright light or light falling on a distant
object. Wauso or Wasso also means lightening. Any [or all] of the following
may be Waus-e-ko-gu-bigs:
Wasso aka The Bright Light, headman of the Saginaw band of Chippewas,
signed the treaty of 1837.
Was-son, Chippewa, signed agreement with British for land in Upper Canada
in 1786.
Wa-saw-a-ton, Chippewa, signed the treaty of 1820.
Was-son, Chippewa Chief, signed agreement giving up land near Detroit to
the English in 1790.
Was-en-ese, Chippewa, signed treaty of
1819.
