"Bug-o-nay-ge-shig was at Prairie du Chien for the treaty of 1825 and
signed as Chief from Sandy Lake. His wife, Mah-nun, was with him and died on
the return trip. I have found one reference saying she was killed by the
Sioux and another that she died on the return from the 1826 treaty at Fond du
Lac, of the 'Great Sickness.'
