White Earth Mississippi Band; O-dub-e-naun-equay was her sister
and [V.R. #95]. There are only a few cases of women being made "Queens," as
in the case of O-dub-e-naun-equay, her husband was a Chief and she succeeded
him. There is no reason given for Wah-bun-un-ung-oke succeeding her sister.
Sone of her children may have grown up and married but had no surviving
children. Julia Superior executed a will leaving her estate to her nephew
Joseph Fairbanks aka Charles Sylvester Anywaush, whom she raised. She stated
in her will that she had no surviving children or grandchildren. The children
were all baptized at St. Columba, White Earth,
Minnesota.
